MATERIAL INNOVATION
BACKED BY SCIENCE
WHAT WE DOOur Approach
At Arda Biomaterials, we harness the untapped potential of plant-based proteins.

We are creating novel biomaterials built from our proprietary plant-based biopolymers, that mimic the structure of animal proteins and replace the need for plastics.

Our revolutionary supramolecular chemistry approach delivers sustainability, price parity, and high performance materials; all whilst omitting the harms of industrialised animal agriculture and plastic waste.

OUR MATERIALS

Introducing our first innovation: transforming beer and whisky into leather-like materials.

Beer brewers and whisky distillers extract sugar from barley grain to ferment into alcohol and leave behind the rest of the grain as waste. Known as ‘brewers spent grain’ (BSG) or ‘draff’, this grain is incredibly protein rich but is normally sold as low-grade cattle feed, or turned into biogas.

At Arda, we are extracting and transforming the protein from waste grain into New GrainTM, an innovative, high-value leather-like material that skips the cow and the plastic.
